Ustad Behram Khan

He was the son of Baba Gopal Pandey, a Pandey Brahmin. During his long life of 120 years he taught hundreds of disciples the art of Dhrupad music in all its purity passing it to posterity. He passed away in Jaipur in 1877.

The father of the late Ustad Zia Mohiuddin Khan Dagar and Ustad Zia Fariduddin Khan Dagar, he was a renowned Rudra Veena player as well as singer and was calld the “Master of Layakari”.

Ustad Zia Fariduddin

is a great vocalist mastering the art of shrutis, he also expresses the deep Ras (essence or mood) of the Râga in an intense and beautiful way. He is the Director of the Dhrupad Centre at IIT, Mumbai (Bombay).
Ustad Mohi Bahauddin Dagar

Son of the late Ustad Zia Mohiuddin Dagar and representing the twentieth generation of the Dhrupad Family or Dhrupad Gharana.
