He was the son of Baba Gopal Pandey, a Pandey Brahmin. During his long life of 120 years he taught hundreds of disciples the art of Dhrupad music in all its purity passing it to posterity. He passed away in Jaipur in 1877.		 Ustad Zakiruddin Khan (Dagar)
